This trial tests a drug called tetrathiomolybdate (TM) combined with capecitabine for people with triple-negative breast cancer who still have cancer cells after standard chemotherapy and surgery. The goal is to see if this combination can help prevent the cancer from coming back.

Who can take part

  • You must have triple-negative breast cancer (ER-, PR-, HER2-).
  • You must have completed at least 6 cycles of standard chemotherapy before surgery.
  • After surgery, you must still have some cancer cells found in the breast or lymph nodes.
  • You cannot have any signs of cancer on scans or physical exam after surgery.
  • You must be in good physical shape (Karnofsky score 90 or 100).
  • You cannot have had capecitabine before, and you cannot be taking warfarin.
