Who can take part

  • Your child must be a boy under 12 years old and weigh more than 22 pounds (10 kg).
  • They must have severe hemophilia A (less than 1% clotting factor VIII activity).
  • They must have been treated with factor VIII before (at least 50 doses if under 6, or 150 doses if 6 to 12).
  • They cannot have a history of factor VIII inhibitors (antibodies that block treatment) or be allergic to factor VIII products.
  • They must be in good general health with no other serious conditions like liver, kidney, or heart problems, or active infections.
