Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and have a BMI of 30 or more (or 27 with a weight-related health problem).
- Your weight has been stable (not changed by more than 5%) for the past 6 months.
- You are willing to avoid starting new weight-loss medications for 12 months and to follow diet counseling and regular check-ups.
- You have not had prior bariatric surgery or endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty.
- You do not have certain other liver diseases, severe acid reflux, or uncontrolled diabetes.
- You do not drink heavily, smoke, or have certain other medical conditions (like bleeding problems or eating disorders).
