This study tests a new type of bionic leg that can adjust to different walking speeds and activities. You may be able to join if you are a healthy adult or an adult with a leg amputation who can walk well.

Who can take part

  • If you are an able-bodied volunteer, you must be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • If you have a leg amputation, you must be between 18 and 70 years old and weigh less than 250 pounds.
  • You must be able to walk for at least 20 minutes without help.
  • You should not have any major muscle, nerve, or bone conditions that would affect walking.
  • You cannot have a history of heart, balance, or vision problems that could interfere with the study.
