Mirdametinib for NF1 skin bumps

This study tests an oral drug called mirdametinib to see if it can shrink skin bumps caused by NF1. If you have at least 24 of these bumps on your skin and are in decent health, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older and have a confirmed diagnosis of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).
  • You need at least 24 measurable skin bumps (called cutaneous neurofibromas), with at least 6 of them on your back.
  • You should be in generally good health, able to do most daily tasks without much help (Karnofsky score 80% or higher).
  • You must have normal kidney and liver function, and adequate blood counts (check with your doctor).
  • If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must not be pregnant or nursing and must use effective birth control. Men must also use condoms and not donate sperm during the study and for a while after.
  • You cannot have taken a MEK inhibitor drug in the past year or had to stop one due to side effects, and you cannot have certain heart, eye, or liver problems.
