Who can take part
- You have NF1, confirmed by having at least two NF1 signs (like café-au-lait spots, freckles in skin folds, neurofibromas, optic pathway glioma, or other specific findings) or a proven NF1 genetic change.
- You have at least one “measurable” atypical neurofibroma that is about 3 cm or larger in one direction, and it can be measured using an MRI scan.
- You are at least 12 years old (and able to swallow whole tablets; for some younger patients a biopsy may be needed if it can be done safely).
- Your heart, blood counts, liver, and kidney tests are within study limits, and you can meet the trial’s timing rules after prior treatments.
- You have not had abemaciclib (or another CDK4/6 inhibitor) before, and you’re able to follow study safety rules (including avoiding grapefruit).
