Who can take part

  • You had your first stroke (either from a clot or bleeding), confirmed by brain imaging.
  • You are between 21 and 85 years old.
  • It has been at least 30 days since your stroke.
  • You have trouble walking because of the stroke.
  • You can walk on level ground without help, but might need supervision for stairs or uneven surfaces.
  • Your thinking and memory are good enough to follow study instructions (score >21 on a quick mental test).
