Who can take part
- You have a type of cancer that is advanced and cannot be cured, but it has been stable on your current treatment for at least 3 months.
- You are 25 years or older and have a diagnosis of anxiety, depression, or adjustment disorder related to your cancer.
- You are willing to travel to MD Anderson Cancer Center for all treatment sessions and have someone to drive you home after the psilocybin session.
- You agree to stop certain medications (like antidepressants or anxiety meds) for at least 2 weeks before the study, and avoid alcohol and other drugs before and after sessions.
- You are not pregnant, and you are willing to use birth control during the study.
- You do not have a history of severe mental health conditions like bipolar disorder, psychosis, or seizures, and you are not at high risk for suicide.
