Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have dry eye in both eyes, with symptoms like discomfort or dryness and at least one sign such as high tear saltiness, low tear film break-up time, or spots on the cornea.
  • You have moderate to severe meibomian gland dysfunction (the glands in your eyelids that make oil for tears are blocked or not working well).
  • Your condition has not responded to at least three different types of standard treatments (like artificial tears, antibiotics, or heat masks) over the past two years.
  • You have light to medium skin tone (Fitzpatrick type I to IV) because darker skin types have higher risk of side effects.
  • You are able to understand and give consent.
