Sacral block for pain control during normal birth

Who can take part

  • You are between 36 and 42 weeks pregnant with a single baby (not twins).
  • You plan to have a vaginal birth (not a C-section).
  • This is your first baby.
  • You are planning to receive an epidural for pain relief.
  • You are 18 to 42 years old and in good health (ASA II).
  • You do not have any bleeding problems, infection near the injection site, or conditions that make epidural unsafe.
