Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are staying in a ward that uses special monitors that check your pulse and oxygen without wires.
  • Your overall health is rated ASA 1, 2, 3, or 4 (covers most patients).
  • You had a major surgery (not on your heart) that lasted at least 1.5 hours.
  • You are expected to stay in the hospital for at least two nights after surgery.
  • You had general anesthesia (put to sleep) for the surgery.
