This study tests if mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord can help children ages 3 to 16 with incomplete spinal cord injuries walk better. It is important for children who still have some movement in their legs but need extra help to improve their walking.

Who can take part

  • Your child is between 3 and 16 years old.
  • The spinal cord injury happened at least 6 months ago and is not getting worse.
  • The injury is 'incomplete' — meaning some movement or feeling remains below the level of the injury, with the injury level above T10 (around the mid-back).
  • Your child can stand upright for more than 30 minutes and can move one leg forward while standing (with help from braces or a walker if needed).
  • Your child is generally healthy: no recent hospital stays (last 3 months), no pacemaker, no active cancer, no pressure sores, and no significant joint stiffness that would block walking training.
