This study compares a specific antiparasitic treatment to a general one for people with high eosinophil levels (a type of white blood cell). If you have eosinophilia without an obvious cause, you may be assigned to receive either a targeted drug or a broader treatment to see which works better.

Who can take part

  • Your blood test shows a high level of eosinophils (over 500) but your white blood cells are not too high (under 10,000).
  • You are at least 18 years old and willing to participate.
  • You have not taken any parasite-killing drugs in the last 6 months.
  • You do not have active cancer, HIV, hepatitis, or other serious infections.
  • You have not recently taken certain medications that can raise eosinophil levels (like some pain relievers or herbal supplements).
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to albendazole, ivermectin, or metronidazole.
