KL003 stem cell treatment for beta-thalassemia

Who can take part

  • You must be between 3 and 35 years old.
  • You must have a type of beta-thalassemia that requires regular blood transfusions (at least 8 transfusions per year for the past 2 years).
  • You must be able to have your own stem cells collected and then given back to you (auto-HSCT).
  • You must be willing to come for follow-up visits for at least 2 years after the treatment.
  • You cannot have had gene therapy or a stem cell transplant from a donor before.
  • You cannot have a fully matched donor available for a stem cell transplant from a donor.
