Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have end-stage cirrhosis and are scheduled for a liver transplant
  • You agree to join the study and sign a consent form
  • Your heart pumps well (ejection fraction of 45% or higher)
  • You do not have serious, untreated heart problems like severe coronary artery disease or advanced heart muscle disease
  • Your lung blood pressure is well-controlled (pulmonary artery pressure under 35 mm Hg)
