  • You are an adult (18 years or older) getting a liver transplant for the first time
  • You are receiving a liver from a deceased donor
  • You do not have a tumor or blood clot in the main vein of your liver (portal vein)
  • You do not have a muscle disease like muscle wasting
  • You do not have serious health problems like heart failure, ongoing infection, or kidney failure
