Who can take part
- You must be between 2 and 45 years old (if you are HIV negative) or between 18 and 45 (if you have HIV and are on antiviral treatment).
- You cannot be pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study. If you are of childbearing age, you need to use effective birth control until 8 months after the first dose (or 3 months after the last dose for HIV-positive participants).
- You must not have received a hepatitis E vaccine before.
- You need to be in generally good health and willing to follow study procedures and provide blood samples.
- You cannot have a fever (100.4°F or higher) or be sick within 3 days before vaccination, or have severe allergies, immune problems, or certain medical conditions (like bleeding disorders or very high weight).
