Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and in good general health.
- You have advanced gum disease (stage III or IV).
- You have at least two but no more than four teeth next to each other with deep gum pockets (over 5 mm) after a recent cleaning.
- Your deep pockets are mostly above the bone, not deep into it.
- You have had a deep cleaning in the last 4 months, and your gums and teeth are now fairly clean (less than 20% bleeding or plaque).
- You do not smoke heavily (10+ cigarettes a day), have loose teeth, or take blood thinners or steroids.
