Who can take part

  • You must have HER2-positive breast cancer that has spread to nearby areas or to other parts of the body and cannot be removed by surgery.
  • You must have already received treatment for advanced breast cancer with trastuzumab (Herceptin) and a taxane chemotherapy (like paclitaxel or docetaxel).
  • You must be at least 18 years old and willing to use effective birth control during the study.
  • You should not have taken any other antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that targets HER2 and contains a tubulin inhibitor (like T-DM1) before.
  • You cannot have untreated or growing brain metastases, or other cancers in the last 3 years.
  • Your overall health should be fairly good (ECOG score 0–2, meaning you are up and about most of the day).

T-DM1 after T-DXd for advanced HER2-positive breast cancer

This trial looks at whether a different targeted therapy, T-DM1, can work for women with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer after they have already tried another targeted therapy called T-DXd (Enhertu). If you have progressed while on T-DXd and have not had more than three previous treatments for advanced cancer, you may be able to join.
