Comparing custom salt levels vs. standard care in dialysis

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and on dialysis for at least 3 months, 3 times a week for 4 hours each time.
  • Your dialysis fluid currently has a standard sodium concentration of 136 mmol/L.
  • You produce very little urine (less than 300 mL per day).
  • You have either: high weight gain between sessions, high blood pressure before dialysis, frequent symptoms during dialysis, or excess body fluid measured by a special device.
  • You do not have certain medical conditions or implants that would interfere with the study.
