Who can take part

  • You are 65 years old or older
  • You are scheduled for hip surgery
  • You have a physical status score of ASA II or III (moderate to severe health risk)
  • You do not have sepsis, a blood clot in the lung, uncontrolled heart failure, or chronic kidney failure
  • You have not had a heart attack or cardioversion in the last 6 months
  • You have not had any surgery in the last month
