Who can take part

  • You must have ulcerative colitis, diagnosed by a doctor.
  • You need to have complete medical records and be willing to sign a consent form.
  • You cannot have a history of mental illness or be taking anxiety or depression medications.
  • You cannot have other serious health issues, like cancer, heart disease, or liver or kidney problems.
  • You must not have taken certain medications in the last 2 weeks, like steroids, beta-blockers, or calcium channel blockers.
  • You should avoid smoking, alcohol, tea, or coffee in the 24 hours before the study.
