Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV) that cannot be removed with surgery.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
- You are about to start first- or second-line chemotherapy (such as platinum plus pemetrexed, docetaxel, or paclitaxel).
- Your general health is good (ECOG score 0 or 1, meaning you can care for yourself and are up and about more than half the day).
- You have no other active cancer within the last 5 years (except treated skin cancers or early-stage cervical cancer).
- You have no serious heart problems (like uncontrolled heart disease, recent stroke, or heart failure).
