The goal is to see which approach works better for reducing pain and improving function.

Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have new pain, swelling, and tenderness in the middle of your Achilles tendon (not at the heel).
- Your symptoms have been present for at least 6 weeks.
- You have not already tried home stretching or physical therapy for this problem.
- You have not had a steroid or other injection in your Achilles tendon.
- You have not had recent surgery on your foot or ankle.
