Hormone Therapy Breast Cancer Screening Pilot

This pilot study tests a new way to screen for breast cancer in people who have taken hormone therapy (like estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone). It aims to include both men and women between 40 and 75, and younger people (30-39) with a family history of breast cancer.

Who can take part

  • Men ages 40-75 who have taken estrogen or progesterone therapy for at least 9 months
  • Women ages 40-75 who have taken testosterone therapy (even if had cosmetic breast surgery, but not full removal)
  • Anyone ages 30-39 with a close family member who had breast cancer (parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt/uncle)
  • Must be able to understand and sign a consent form in English
  • Women who have had a full mastectomy or are postmenopausal on estrogen/progesterone cannot take part
