Who can take part

  • You have squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus (a common type) that has come back or progressed after prior treatment.
  • You are 18 years or older and in good enough health to walk around and take care of yourself (ECOG score 0-2).
  • Your tumor can be seen on scans and is not too large or spread to distant organs.
  • Your blood counts, liver, and kidney function are within normal limits.
  • You are not pregnant, and you will use contraception during and for 4 weeks after treatment.
  • You do not have active autoimmune diseases, serious infections, or other uncontrolled medical conditions.
