Who can take part
- You must be 40 years old or older.
- You must have at least one risk factor for complications after surgery, such as heart or lung disease, diabetes, or being a smoker.
- You must be scheduled for a non-emergency surgery that is not on your blood vessels or leg bones, and you will stay in the hospital for at least 2 days after.
- You must be able to walk for 6 minutes (with or without a walker or cane).
- You must understand and speak one of the official languages used in the country where the study is happening.
