Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You are scheduled for planned (not emergency) surgery with general anesthesia.
  • Your physical health is classified as ASA I, II, or III.
  • You do not have severe lung disease like COPD or restrictive lung disease.
  • You do not have severe heart failure (NYHA class III or IV).
  • You are able to do handgrip and a 6-minute walk test.
