  • You are eligible to have a sleeve gastrectomy (weight-loss surgery) based on standard guidelines.
  • You can provide written consent to participate.
  • You are healthy enough for elective surgery and can tolerate general anesthesia.
  • You have not had weight-loss surgery before.
  • You are not currently taking strong painkillers (opioids) every day for the last 3 months.
  • You are not having emergency surgery.
