Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You weigh at least 40 kilograms (about 88 pounds)
- You have had asthma for at least 1 year and use medium or high dose inhaled steroids plus another asthma controller medicine daily
- You have had at least 1 asthma attack in the past year that needed extra treatment
- Your blood test shows a certain type of white blood cell (eosinophils) at a level of 0.15 or higher
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study and for 14 months after the last dose
