- You are a woman who is perimenopausal or postmenopausal, and your periods stopped less than 2 years ago
- You have at least 5 hot flashes or night sweats per day (or 35 per week) that you've kept track of for 2 weeks
- Your BMI is between 18.5 and 34.9
- You have not taken hormone therapy, birth control pills, or similar treatments in the last 3 months
- You are not currently taking probiotics or eating probiotic-rich foods more than 3 days a week
- You have never had breast cancer, uterine cancer, or other hormone-related cancers
