Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You have been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B (surface antigen positive for at least 6 months) and your HBeAg test is positive
- Your hepatitis B surface antigen level is between 100 and 5000 IU/mL
- You are currently taking oral antiviral medication (nucleoside pills) or have never taken antiviral treatment (or stopped for at least 3 months)
- You do not have significant liver scarring, cirrhosis, or liver cancer
- You are willing to use effective birth control during the study and follow-up period
