  • You are a woman over 18 years old.
  • You have breast cancer and need a mastectomy, or you've already had one.
  • You want DIEP flap breast reconstruction (using your own belly tissue).
  • You haven't had open abdominal surgery before.
  • You agree to stop smoking at least 3 months before and after surgery.
