Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and have a brain lesion (such as a tumor) that needs surgery.
  • Your surgery will use a technique called MEP monitoring to protect nearby healthy brain tissue.
  • You are not pregnant and do not have a reduced level of consciousness.
  • You do not have weakness in your arm or leg on the same side as your brain lesion.
  • You will not receive inhalational anesthesia (gas anesthesia) during surgery.
  • You are able to have the monitoring electrodes placed on your body.
