Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • If you have skin cancer, it must be melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, or squamous cell carcinoma confirmed by imaging.
  • Your skin lesion must be on a flat area and at least 3 cm by 2 cm.
  • Do not use deodorant, perfume, scented cream, soap, or hair products for 24 hours before sampling.
  • Do not handle strong-smelling substances (like household cleaners or paint) for 24 hours before sampling.
  • Do not eat, drink flavored drinks, or eat sweets for 2 hours before sampling.
