Who can take part

  • You have had a serious injury (trauma) with major bleeding
  • You are being treated by a participating Ornge air ambulance team
  • You need a blood transfusion before reaching the hospital
  • You are 16 years or older (or not being taken to a children's hospital)
  • You do not have a known objection to receiving blood
  • You have not already received blood from the scene before the ambulance team arrived
