Who can take part
- You have had a serious injury and emergency team thinks you are at risk from dangerous bleeding
- Your systolic blood pressure is very low (≤ 90) with fast heart rate (≥ 108) OR your systolic blood pressure is extremely low (≤ 70)
- Blood transfusion has started in the field or within 60 minutes of arriving at the trauma center
- The care team plans major surgery to control bleeding within 60 minutes of arriving (like opening the chest/abdomen or repairing major blood vessels)
- You are expected to be admitted to the ICU
- You can receive study treatment (the team must be able to place an IV or similar access line, and you must not have opted out)
