Who can take part
- You are an adult (over 18 years).
- You were brought in with major trauma and severe bleeding shock, and your hospital has activated a trauma code.
- Doctors decide you may need a massive transfusion (for example, ABC score 2 or higher, or the treating team thinks it’s likely).
- Whole blood (or blood component therapy) is available at the hospital at the time of treatment.
- You arrive and start study steps within about 4 hours from injury to hospital, and within about 2 hours from hospital arrival to randomization.
