Who can take part

  • You are between 60 and 80 years old (if female, you must have had no periods for over a year).
  • Your blood pressure medicine has been the same for at least 3 months (if you take any).
  • You have stiff arteries, confirmed by a simple test during a screening visit.
  • You do not have diabetes, a history of heart disease, or certain other conditions (see exclusions).
  • You are not regularly exercising more than 3 days a week at a moderate or intense level.
