Who can take part
- You are pregnant with a single baby at full term (around 39–40 weeks).
- You are scheduled for a planned cesarean delivery (C-section).
- You do not have any uncontrolled heart conditions (like a tight valve, weak heart muscle, heart block, or irregular heartbeat).
- You do not have high blood pressure related to pregnancy.
- You do not have a bleeding or clotting disorder, and your platelet count is normal.
- Your usual systolic blood pressure (top number) is 100 mmHg or higher.
