Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 35.
  • You have mild to moderate overall health (ASA I or II).
  • You are scheduled for a planned (elective) shoulder arthroscopy.
  • You have no allergy to numbing medicines (local anesthetics).
  • You have no bleeding disorder, chronic pain condition, or long-term opioid use.
  • You have not taken any pain medicine in the 24 hours before surgery.
  • You are not pregnant.
