Who can take part

  • You must be 18 to 64 years old.
  • You are scheduled for a planned (non-emergency) kidney transplant.
  • You are not allergic to narcotic pain medicines or sedatives.
  • You have not had liver failure or a liver transplant.
  • You have not had general anesthesia in the last 30 days or plan to have it again in the next 30 days.
