How different exercises affect gut health in older adults with muscle loss

SarcopeniaOlder Adults

Part of Brain & nervous system clinical trials.

This study looks at how different types of exercise can change the bacteria in your gut for older adults who have muscle loss (sarcopenia). You will be assigned to one of two exercise programs to see which one helps your muscles and gut health the most.

NCT03649698Recruiting
Exercise and nutrition plan for loss of muscle with aging

This trial studies whether a structured exercise and nutrition program can improve muscle health in older adults with (pre)sarcopenia, especially those who may have slower walking or reduced strength. It also checks safety by excluding people with unstable health problems and several specific medical conditions.

Gut bacteria in sarcopenia and probiotic development

This study looks at gut bacteria differences between older adults with muscle loss (sarcopenia), healthy older adults, and younger adults. Results may help develop probiotics to support muscle health.

Diet, inflammation, and muscle loss in older adults

This study looks at how diet and gut health relate to muscle loss (sarcopenia) in adults 60 and older. It aims to understand links between inflammation, gut bacteria, and muscle strength so we can find better ways to prevent frailty.
