Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old and getting a kidney from a living donor.
  • Your blood type is compatible with your donor's (your transplant team will check this).
  • You have never had an organ transplant before.
  • You are willing to use effective birth control if you or your partner could become pregnant.
  • You do not have serious health issues like active infections, severe heart disease, or recent cancer (within 3 years).
  • You do not have a known allergy to certain transplant medicines (like thymoglobulin or tacrolimus).
