Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You are scheduled for elective surgery (not an emergency) that requires muscle relaxation.
  • You will be lying on your back (supine) during surgery.
  • The surgery is expected to last at least 1.5 hours.
  • You do not have any nerve or muscle disease, and you are not allergic to the muscle relaxant rocuronium or to adhesives.
  • You have no weakness, deformity, or missing parts of your arms. You are not having surgery that uses a heart-lung machine (cardiopulmonary bypass).
