Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are scheduled for a laparoscopic, robotic, or video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) that will last more than 3 hours
  • You are able to understand and sign a consent form in English
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or in jail
  • You do not have nerve or muscle problems, like muscular dystrophy
  • You do not have any allergies to common anesthetics or muscle relaxants
