Who can take part

  • You are between 6 and 15 weeks pregnant.
  • You are 18 to 45 years old.
  • You live in the local area now and have for at least the past year.
  • You are at high risk for gestational diabetes, for example because your pre-pregnancy BMI was 24 or higher, you had GDM before, or you have a family history of diabetes.
  • You are not already taking more than 800 IU of vitamin D daily.
  • You are not pregnant with twins or more, and you did not use fertility treatments like IVF for this pregnancy.
