Who can take part

  • You must have a type of leukemia called AML (or MDS turning into AML) with a specific change in the FLT3 gene.
  • You are at least 15 years old.
  • You are in fairly good physical shape (able to do most daily activities).
  • Your liver, kidneys, and heart function must be within acceptable limits on recent blood tests and an echocardiogram.
  • You cannot have already received strong chemotherapy for this leukemia, or have another active cancer, serious heart disease, or an active serious infection.
