Who can take part
- You have one of these anxiety disorders as your main concern: generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, or illness anxiety disorder.
- Your anxiety level must be at least moderate, based on a short questionnaire.
- You are not currently taking any medications that affect mood or thinking, or you have been on a stable dose of certain anxiety/depression medications or birth control for at least 4 weeks.
- You can tolerate being in a small, enclosed space like an MRI machine, and you do not have any metal in your body that would make an MRI unsafe.
- You do not have a current or past diagnosis of OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, or a serious neurological condition like a seizure disorder or head injury with loss of consciousness longer than 5 minutes.
