Who can take part

  • Your baby must be having heart surgery within the first month of life.
  • Your baby must be born at 35 weeks of pregnancy or later.
  • Your baby should not have other major birth defects besides the heart problem.
  • Your baby must not have had a serious brain injury.
  • Your baby should not need a breathing machine for more than 4 weeks after surgery.
  • Your baby cannot have certain genetic conditions like trisomy 13, 18, or 21, or a cleft lip or palate.
